About SHEILD
Our Story & Approach
SHEILD Association is a reputable and well-established humanitarian non-profit organization that was founded in 2010 in Lebanon. As a registered Civil Company (Non-Governmental Association), SHEILD is committed to promoting human rights, providing aid to victims of disasters and armed conflicts, and fostering the development of societies. Operating in Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, SHEILD focuses on vulnerable groups such as refugees, women, children, prisoners and their families, the elderly, and those with physical and/or mental challenges. With programs spanning emergency and relief, protection and monitoring, development and livelihoods, agriculture, food security and production, prisons and judicial systems, as well as humanitarian mine action, SHEILD works tirelessly to address the critical needs of these communities and create a culture of global cooperation.
Our Mission
Our mission is to alleviate the suffering caused by war, the absence of governmental services, and social disparities. SHEILD Association is dedicated to providing direct assistance and community-based interventions that enhance human rights, improve economic conditions, ensure access to food and services, and protect marginalized communities. We uphold the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Arab Charter on Human Rights, ensuring that all people in need receive assistance without discrimination based on race, gender, religious belief, nationality, ethnic origin, or class. Through our participatory approach, we collaborate with local stakeholders, authorities, and beneficiaries to assess needs and implement programs that address these needs effectively.
